Like anything on the internet, nothing can be truly deleted unless everyone who sees it allows it to be deleted. Any delete button you see on Nostr is just a "pretty please overlook my post" button. It's the same when editing posts too. Basically just be careful not to send any sensitive notes to any relays you don't trust.
