#asknostr Could someobe clarify the process that occurs when YouTube videos appear in our feeds? Are we streaming them directly from YouTube or are they stored on an intermediate server? Thanks in advance 😁

YouTube links will pull directly from YouTube

Sometimes people also download content and reupload it for nostr, then it won't have the YouTube video player box and will be from nostr's own server network

Thanks for the info! Is it correct that Youtube should only see the IP of the nostr relay, not the end user?

No, YouTube would see the IP of the end user

This can be avoided with a browser extension that replaces YouTube with invidious or something
