Lighting to die. I detest enthusing everything about it for self-custody.
It’s a clearing network. Not a holding network
It still sucks. It's complicated, difficult, requires a huge amount of sats to be tied up, you risk loosing them, and it is beyond the technical capability of nearly everyone.
Until something better comes along, it's mostly what we have currently, though I don't recommend expecting it to last long term.
Yup. I figure that only dedicated operators will deal with Lightning, not end users. It’s just too hard.
