🤡 Alleged case: director Carl Rinsch of the film “47 Ronin” faces up to 90 years in prison. Reports say he allegedly diverted Netflix-backed funds for the series “Conquest” into crypto, stocks, and personal spending.

Chronology of events:

- 2018–2020: Netflix finances the series “Conquest” at about $44M.

- 2020: He reportedly requests an additional $11M to finish the project.

- Next: the money allegedly flows through a chain of accounts to Rinsch’s personal brokerage, where he engages in high-risk trades and loses about half the amount within months.

- Then: crypto speculation (Dogecoin in the press) and spending on furniture, antiques, a Ferrari, a Rolls-Royce, Swiss watches, and more.

- 2021: Netflix cancels the project and writes off about $55M; no one at the company has seen a single frame of the series.

Carl Rinsch is scheduled to be sentenced on April 17, 2026, and faces up to 90 years in prison.
