Your precious bitcoin is nothing more than a ticker on the NYSE. Next to zero real-world value. People just trade US dollars for it in the hopes that it will increase in "value", inevitably in terms of US dollars.
Let me know when I can use bitcoin to pay utility and grocery bills. Let me know when my employer can pay me with it.
