Hey Jose. I do post when I think I have something compelling to grab the Nostr audiences attention about the genocide. I also talk about it on my podcast. But this isn't about me. I simply don't have a large platform. When I post I'm just posting to my echo chamber.
There are very well known and well established people who promote Nostr as freedom tech that will help expose governments and free people. Those thought leaders here have remained silent. They failed to rise to the occasion for their own cause.
Okay, that's good, but what happens if we get everyone on nostr talking about Palestine?
Nostr is freedom tech because Palestinians can come and post uncensored. In a way that they couldn't elsewhere.
We can't share much that's not already public with no better insight.
News and social media platforms censor and suppress information about the genocide, and also any protests in favor of the Palestinians. Any criticism of Israel can get your banned or shadow banned on the other platforms.
There is a lot of evidence of both the genocide and the public support for a ceasefire that isn't "public" or accessible to most people.
And how are the nostr celebrities supposed to get that info if it's not public?
I gotta say this line of questioning feels disingenuous. These are the same challenges people have spreading truthful information about Bitcoin. They figured it out, they can figure this out.

I think it's the Palestinians who need to use nostr. If we fail to host them, it would be a failure of freedom tech.
But it's not a failure that nostr users didn't especially care about a war that they're not funding or involved in.
I am personally funding this genocide through my tax dollars. Every single American is. Lots of other governments also give money to Israel. Lots of companies we all purchase things from fund Israel and their so-called settlements. Many people on Nostr should care because they are in fact, unfortunately, funding this genocide.

You're not going to stop a genocide via social media, no matter where you are. If social media ever had any impact of that magnitude, it was aided by governments and their intelligence agencies, see arab spring, etc.
There have probably been more openly critical voices against Israel and their supporters on nostr than on Fediverse and Bluesky combined but thinking that some outrage online is going to change the behavior of ZOG is setting yourself up for failure.

So we have Nostr but it won't be able to do anything? I don't buy it. Tiktok alone in the past year worked well enough to show Americans the truth about Zionism. The majority of Americans want a ceasefire. That's because of the information they've gotten on social media despite their own government and state run media.
And I don't see much criticism of Israel on here. I do see lots of complaints about money sent to Ukraine. I don't see those same people complaining when we send billions after billions to Israel. For decades.
We don't even have to make it about genocide. Make it about economic policy. If that'll get people's attention. It's THE story to talk about right now. But the sentiment of 'what's the point' seems to be the reason I keep getting when I bring this up.
