I need to make this happen, at least something short. Whats some good audio software to use for making a podcast? I have access to a somewhat modern Windows PC, and a very old laptop running Linux. I dont have pro microphones, or even standalone mics, and would use a headset

Do you have access to an iPhone? There are lots of podcast apps that help you record and edit right from your phone.
i mainly use an android but i do have an iphone 7 available
Have tried using laptop with headset and phone. Laptop recording is muffled and hissy. Phone cuts in and out
