KeyDB is better

Is that the open source fork or something else

Closed source fork that got bought out by Snap and made open source

If you ever want to rely on a OSS product for long-term usage, it either has to have a very big community that cares about forks, or the company making it should not have it be their primary service

I would be surprised if you could advertise on any term ending in db but that could also be why 🤔

It could also be based on your own search history and activity within Google's ecosystem.

hmm

First thing I thought of as well. Why is there that ad on the top??

That’s how Google works. The first few results are usually ads

100%. I know that. Just haven’t seen those in 3 years!

I think they weren’t disclosing it for a while but they got in trouble. I use Kagi so I don’t see ads at all

I haven’t seen ads in search results for years thanks to nostr:npub1lmzc2834vuk9f2ug4gklyu2n4du9p9nwhaugtzak7l464drmdvvs38jfdp

First thing I do at any new workstation is use their sign-in via QR code feature to get in without me needing to enter my password. Pay by Lightning. Private and get access to nearly all LLMs close to when they are released.

Maybe nostr:npub1xsgymm0ne3vndqpvsvy285qfpu59049t5n5twg9vetmt92cyn95snyzazx too. Both look legit. Anyone know what is the “real one”?

Quality of results are great! Going to start using this

You can pay via Lightning on OpenNode too. I never thought I’d be paying for a search engine, but it is worth it. Nice not being the product!

I don't use any google service for purpose. Google doesn't respect your privacy so I think the main reason of showing this ad based on your search history or in the worst case on your google profile. I don't allow anyone profile me.
