We're the ones cutting down 4 acres per minute in the amazon rainforest to grow soy fields to feed to cows. It's not about access to resources.

The Amazon is cut down to produce beef. And it shouldn't be but that's not where most soy goes.
Most beef is produced by family farms locally where the cow primarily eats grass it's whole life. Cow feed consist mostly of stuff humans cannot eat. Like corn husk or the shells of soybeans. The final stage of the cow is usually flattened with grain. But some farmers cheap out and use stuff like expired gummy bears and Oreos.
We should stop the rainforest from being destroyed but a steak in North Carolina is not the primary contributor to that specific problem as steak is mostly a domestic production.
