It's always interesting to see how trending posts from multiple algorithms don't bring in as many sats as other posts. These posts clearly have a huge reach to trend BUT they don't convert into better revenue for the author.
If you are trying to make a living on Nostr, don't follow the trending topic recipe.
I wish some behavioral data science chad analyzed the intersection of both and dropped some hard knowledge around this.
Be helpful. Show development. Or tips. Or whatever. Compare it to youtube people. even how bad youtube is, the youtubers still have to put in real effort.

Trending doesn’t mean valuable. Value 4 value means that popular doesn’t mean profitable! Love this model.
What also plays a role is the fact that some nostr users can't discover others. I for example could only see 500 where others could see 700 followers. That is a really large difference. With youtube you are guaranteed to find eachother, with nostr you need some other layers for that or something.
and the look and feel and behavior of applications is also important.
I like that Nostr promote originality. I get sats on posts outta my head than trending posts. Lol
Due to more of a level playing field..? Maybe?
Not sure if data science bros would be of much help.
It's a new thing, it will take a little while until we figure out what is considered zap-worthy and what isn't, and it will most likely shift over time.
