I really think the community is more concerned about the lack of consensus in Bitcoin Core than the spam issue itself. The PR was not transparent enough and there was no room / time for a real discussion.

That's why BTC community is now interested in trying Bitcoin Knots.

Learn from that Bitcoin Core guys...
