I am certain that if people kept every cent they earned, and markets provided all of the services needed, consumers would see a significant increase in total wealth (relative to the taxation-for-services model) from resulting market efficiencies. They would also get better services as providers would face competition and repercussions for poor performance.

For the 60%+ of wealth being syphoned via inflation + taxation, the return to citizens in goods and services from authority is HORRIBLE.
