Begin with grabbing a device. Most will have you input pool data like stratum URL and username. It's almost plug and play.

Yeah that all generally makes sense, thanks. I was running a routing node a while back, i don’t think it should be too difficult to learn mining.

The heatpunks and my work on the theoretical physics side of bitcoin made me realize I need to be hashing for numerous reasons. The market for home hashing is quite large and was looking to start with a small bitaxe and/or something for heating a small office. The heatbits are quite a costly place to start imo.

Yea. Hashrate in general is a bit pricey. Bitaxe is much more affordable and requires all the same steps to setup that a bigger device requires.
