Lightning lowers the barrier to entry in becoming a bank. Now other banks do not have to trust you in order to join the banking network. In the long run, it doesn't itself eliminate the need for banks.
Can anyone help please. I am unable to figure out why this is supposed to be “permissionless” when in fact it is a VIP club for the privileged?
