*History is tricky thing.
When we, humans, tell a story… things unfold sequentially… A > B > C
But, to quote Carlo Rovelli in “The Order of Time”
“If we could measure the duration of an interval… we should find that the time measured takes only certain discrete, special values…. We must think of it discontinuous: not as something that flows uniformly but as something that in a certain sense jumps, kangaroo-like from one value to another.” (Rovelli, 2017)
Perhaps, one then concludes that this observable nature of events is an illusion.
This immediately fits with our understanding of time as it unfolds… the story is this: A > B > C
But the events themselves in real time seem much more chaotic… a roommate who wasn’t home. A missed flight. A lost device. A traffic jam. Seemingly random inputs- out of our control.
And many years later… an unexpected outcome.
Life is not simply deterministic. It is attractive.
