There's a huge gap in compatible software. All software will need to be recompiled for BSD, and no one's doing that. If there was a magic compatibility software that could run everything Linux on BSD, it could make things easier.

True, though I'd say this problem is largely bridged. You won't find the exact same software but there are decent alternatives to everything now
I can never get anything going bc something always road blocks me. For example, I try to use Talos andBlackbirdd MBs and this causes a doom loop of software problems. You get one thing working then you are missing something else. It has taken me years of fiddling and help of friends and I can't simply run bitcoin and sparrow bc something is always missing. Qt5 and not Qt6 and they won't support Qt5 because its not worth it and on and on.
I understand, it's mostly because Linux gives you the freedom to fuck up 😛 and making you feel like you're almost there, which is more infuriating.
windows would give you a "something went wrong" and that'd be the end of it 😂
