Ok so there’s a lot of conjecture on the origin of memes, because tbh they’re pretty hard to pin down..

My theory is that, at the core, they are inside jokes that you have only have with yourself. Like, no one else would find that funny, but you decide to post it any ways.

And then we have a phenom where you’re weird inside joke that no one else could get goes like.. viral?
