We could stop all the spam from the npub I'm replying to if people would stop rewarding it with likes, reposts, etc.

But the easier way would be if more people would actively pressure nostr devs to fix apps that are maliciously designed to boost spam

Nostr News Network isn’t a bot. It’s a real person, putting time and energy into curating News stories on Nostr.

They got a real life and it’s tough and this is a passion project.

It is. And it’s not automated. Just use the mute button. It’s easier to check the news from Nostr News Network than getting bogged down by too much noise.
