It's possible that we choose our parents and that we live many lives. If this is the case, it is our responsibility to make the best of our situation after all we chose the path with all of the potential trade offs. If one has all their basic needs accounted for then they might find ideals in improving the world for all, in large or small ways. Do we want to participate in life by extracting capital or building it?

A few years ago I first came across that idea - that we choose our parents - and it's amazing how powerful it is. It almost doesn't matter how that might happen; just the possibility that it might be true can shift how we experience life.
Edgar Cayce talks about this in several of his readings. The purpose of life is to achieve our highest ideal. We keep coming back over and over again until we accomplish this. Choosing the parents each time which might help facilitate that experience, maybe through love and nurturing or through struggle and hardship.
We'd didn't. Glad to provide a definitive answer for you.
