I just listened to Erik Voorhees speech at Permissionless II. I'm just confused. Why do people think we need all these different blockchains with thousands of different assets? Why not just build on Bitcoin?

I don't understand. Is there utility that cannot built on bitcoin? What is the logic here? It's driving me nuts.

Technically theres nothing wrong with legit projects having a go at something - my concern is that energy which could be put to good use on bitcoin beating the banking system is spent elsewhere, but then, I have no right to any say in how other people use their energy, unless it's specifically to cause harm.
