So after some fuckwit mental-case Australian walks into a NZ mosk and murders innocent people the Government decides to ban "assault weapons" (whatever that means) and crack down on free speech (not that we ever had that anyway).

Then gun crime goes up, mainly from criminals and gangs who, surprise, surprise, didn't turn in their "assault weapons" during the compulsory purchase period.

So now we get a gun registry, which will be a register of people who lawfully own small calibre semi-automatic hunting rifles. Very useful I'm sure.

Do they expect the gangs and violent crimms to go ahead and willingly register their weapons? Are they that stupid?

Meanwhile gun related crime and incidents in my town go up again, but I'm not allowed to own a gun for self defence purposes, I can only defend myself against rabbits.
