Saint Andrew, brother of Simon Peter, was called by Jesus Himself to be an Apostle. Before following Christ, he was a disciple of John the Baptist. Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus, saying, "We have found the Messiah." He preached the Gospel throughout Scythia, modern-day Romania and Ukraine and was martyred in Patras, Greece, crucified on an X-shaped cross.

Let us pray to Saint Andrew, that through his intercessions, we may be strengthened in our faith and be zealous in sharing the Good News with others.
