Advice needed for Bitcoin node:

I’m new to running a node and realized I didn’t have quite enough space on my old laptop to keep it running without crashing. Can anyone explain if it’s possible to migrate it to external storage? I connected 1TB external storage to the laptop but don’t know how to move the node software to it. Thank you in advance!
