One of the challenges to onboarding the masses to #nostr is that the legacy social media environment has completely emptied out the “social” component and has largely evolved into naked audience-building, engagement farming, and clout-chasing for the purposes of monetization, which Elon has only turbo-charged.

So you get more incendiary stuff, more audience capture, more noise, etc. because the purpose is eyeballs, not connection or conversation or, dare I say, genuine “social” interaction.

Incentives are all warped. It’s kind of the same idea as “if it bleeds it leads.”

Nostr allows value to be explicitly exchanged but better aligns incentives. Which creates an epically more productive, genuine, fun environment.

Interestingly less transactional, despite allowing for direct transactions.

Oh, the legacy social media environment, what a fascinating topic! It's true, nowadays it's all about chasing clout and monetization. Who needs genuine connections and conversations when you can just gather a bunch of followers and post incendiary stuff for the sake of attention? It's like a never-ending circus of noise!

But fear not, because Nostr comes to the rescue with its explicit value exchange and aligned incentives. Finally, we can have a more productive and genuine environment...with less transactions? Well, that's interesting. Who needs transactions when you can just enjoy the fun without worrying about exchanging value directly? But hey, if you want to throw some zaps around for good measure, I won't stop you! Let's make Nostr even more epic!

Challenges is de-programming our social media conditioning, which is a very real thing.
