Fun fact; car tires are constantly shedding microplastics, whenever they're in motion those microplastics get tossed into the air and inhaled by people.

Anyone who lives near a busy road is constantly breathing microplastics, unlike eaten microplastics which mostly just move through the digestive system, inhaled microplastics go directly into the blood stream.

Car tires are expensive to dispose of, take up too much room in landfills, leach heavy metals into the soil.

They mostly end up getting burnt or dumped in the desert /ocean instead of recycled
