Sometimes I wonder whether actors [have the opportunity to] find a rather direct path tHere: since they’ve spent their careers “trying on” different personas, it may make it easier to recognize the “play” of their own life.

As with anything in this work, of course, it is likely both: a heightened opportunity for insight and freedom, as well as highly seductive traps of fame, wealth, ego, etc.

Also, for those wondering… when he says, “it doesn’t matter” in the video, it’s not from a place of nihilism or absence of empathy; it’s a recognition of the great act we’re all here to play. Doing that work opens the heart more, if anything.
