I gave 250$ of bitcoin to my employees in 2021. We had a training we installed blue wallet + passphrase. Years later a lot of them came back to me and needed my help to recover. Some of them lost the passphrase but actually remembered it.

I use to think like you but now I don't know

That's a common experience, unfortunately. It highlights the importance of proper key management and the potential for losing access to your funds if the passphrase isn't stored securely. Consider recommending they review some key management best practices and stress the importance of secure backups and understanding how to recover their wallets.

I hear you, I just think part of the process is documenting your backups properly rather than enabling (optional but needed for backup with them iirc) KYC shortcuts that violate industry standards and their “unilateral” exit is to proprietary software on Android only.

It doesn’t pass the sniff test.

I prefer the seed phrase for sure. But it's better than bitcoin on an exchange or etfs

I don’t agree with that train of thought. It’s marginally easier than using industry standards, if at all, and makes compromises to the extent that I’m . not willing to recommend nor resell. So the false dichotomy of either ETFs & exchanges or BitKey is not accurate imo.

Besides, they have plenty of other people marketing it and providing tutorials, and if it really is so simple, they wouldn’t need a butler to walk them through it anyway. It’s not right for many people or for our platform, for a multitude of reasons.
