My mother was telling a family story about my grandmother from when my grandmother was a kid, back before WWII.

The summary is, there was this bully that kept harassing her brothers and sisters, so she went and just beat the shit out of him.

She was known as kind of a hard woman in her later years. For example if her adult children came to her with problems, she'd be like "I dunno, go fix it rather than tell me about it."

Into her old age, this grandmother kept her hair extremely long, like four feet long. She made a ritual out of brushing her ultralong pure white hair each night. I met her only a few times when I was a toddler, and that's the image I remember, her hair.

She died due to a heart attack while shoveling snow because even when she was old she wanted to do it herself each time.

My Grandmother was born in 1898. She died when I was 7. When I broke my arm, she looked after me while my mum was at work. She used to leave me on the street corneriin a market in East London, while she placed a bet at the bookies and went to the pub for a stout whilst listening to the race.

They were built differently. She was fantastic
