For #android users, make sure your #keyboard app (how you type text) is #FOSS or atleast #open-source. It is crucial for #privacy.

anysoftveyboard - need some configuration

florisboard - fairly simple and straightforward

tiny keyboard - lightweight

thumbkey - crazy squarish keyboard.

8vim keyboard - even crazier

simple keyboard - simple

simple keyboard (simplemobile suite -> fossify appsuite fork is better) also simple

unexpected keyboard

hacker keyboard adjustable

openboard - straightforward

you can install all of these transparant open-source keyboards using #F-Droid (or neo-store(alternative F-Droid client)), an open-source alternative for google play.

2 years using Messagease keyboard (like Thumbkey keyboard) but not opensource. Recently (3 months ago) I switch to Thumbkey, I admit they both use a crazy layout, it takes time to lear, it but now I am quite fast with it and I would not switch back to a qwerty layout. Despite I recommend to give it a try, it is not for everyone. However, no matter what keyboard you choose, but choose an opensource keyboard if you want to stay private.

It looks really odd, but it might be really efficient once you get used to it.

Don't forget #KryptEY :) Allows you to exchange #e2ee messages using any messenger, email or communication app.
