Tropical west coastal state in India on the indian ocean. Lots of chill beach towns with about 1000+ people.
Neither ritzy resorts, nor desperate poverty.
Laid back mix of Indian small business owners, and travelers on multi month trips.
Interesting cultural mix of Indians, Nepalese, Europeans , Israelis and Russians. and in my experience good vibes all around.
State of Goa is famous for its massive rave/party scene, but I was in a more “sleepy” town.
Many restaurants with live music every night played by locals. Easy to make friends.
