What is a true woman? The Bible is very clear that point. The world around us wants us to believe that we are loud, foul-mouthed, physically able to do anything men can do, we need to be independent of men and those are just a few lies. Proverbs 31 teaches what a woman is. She trusts her husband (verse 11), she does him good (verse 12), she is an entrepreneur and manages her household well (verses 13-19, 21, 24), she is generous (verse 20), she is ingenuitive (verse 22), she brings her husband honor (verse 23), she is strong and dignified (verse 25), she is not lazy but works hard (verse 26). All of this stems from her love and fear of God (verse 30). God made men and women to be different with different responsibilities, but that doesn't mean women are to be any less respected and honored. So ladies, do not hear if you give up the identity that the world has offered you that you will be perceived as less than who you are made! Quite the opposite, you are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27-28), and I would argue that there is more honor and respect due to those ladies who are quiet and humble, seeking to honor God.
