Good question. Human rights violations can be distributed and monetized online. Different folks have different opinions on that.

Some see it as a record of crimes so they would see the information as useful. Others see it as further harm and exploitation to the already vulnerable and abused.

surely the danger / unsafe bit is NOT being in possession of information

It’s against the law to be in possession of specific types of content that ends up online. I obviously wouldn’t want anything to do with it anyway.

Currently the content would be removed offline and then be in possession of orgs and law enforcement. So technically in that situation someone is in possession of the information just not the entire internet.
