Consider islam. It is a thinly veiled excuse for wars of conquest, full of inconsistencies and absurdities. It was clearly the invention of a machievellian-minded closeted-homossexual schizophrenic... But still to this day hundreds of millions of people truly believe in what Muhammad said and are willing to kill whoever disagrees.

Islam is an army, a sword, a tool of conquest.

Consider judaism. It is a religion designed around favouring your own kind as much as possible, no matter who else suffers for it. Everyone who is not a jew is seen as lesser, to be exploited or dominated - and look how the positions of power tend to accumulate jews.

Judaism is a feudal system, shackles, a tool of domination.

Now consider Christianity. It may be the truth, or it may be the sedimentation of centuries of mythology aided along by the infidelity of a Nazarene woman a couple of millennia ago. Christianity proselytized peacefully as much as it was forced onto peoples. It was moulded into the legitimating agent of European politics for hundreds of years, and either under it or despite it Europeans and their diaspora accomplished most of humanity's achievements.
