You are talking about elons sattelites right? Well they are connected via lasers in orbit and therefore need to know your location and the location of the receiver in order to determine the best possible route from or to your position.

Analog tech could maybe make up for great decentralized physical network layer.
Using VHF/UHF in local areas with a few receivers getting block chain data from black streams satellite or the few internet access points can greatly help communities in rural or difficult to reach locations
