Why is running a small electric chainsaw enjoyable even though the work takes longer VS a big stihl that cuts through wood like butter?

Once i hit 30, the annoyance of loud machinery dramatically increased.

I like them too, great for timber framing

Great for clearing brush and small stuff. I even have a small gas stihl, but have found I go the electric more often.

Gotta have both! Two different jobs

Loud machinery destroys enjoyment of the outdoors, but maximizes time efficiency. For me, the equation starts out hand held tools, saws, axes, etc. then the body says fuck it, time for the farm boss!

Same, I have my heavy duty loppers in hand most days, fun work. Then the electric chainsaw. Usually I try to save all my chainsaw work for 1 day/qtr. I've actually been bartering with a logger friend of mine to have him cut trees I want down in exchange for the occasional black walnut. Been doing similar trades with the neighbor, firewood for Bobcat work.

Barter is so very satisfying
