A free man is free to do what he wants. Wanting things you have control to do is one way to do that. Wanting what is right and making what's right happen is another way, a subset of the other way, and that brings more freedom to yourself and others. Wanting things you can do, which allows you to do other things you will want to do in the future, is another specific way, and it generally tends toward the same thing as doing what's right.
