nostr:npub1qzc8ejmflltq5uuwmvurfcfd4l96t6np6c8fzgj9l2rdfheadydshtyetl We can't phase #fossilFuels out slowly because there's almost no time left; we can't do it rapidly because it would collapse the global #economy Great Depression (or worse) style, and the GD was *anything* but just and equitable. Millions would probably die in the resulting resource wars alone. #ClimateCrisis

#Renewables cannot simply be plugged in 1:1 so our lives of pathological planetary #overshoot can roll merrily on in the absence of fossil fuels. That's the part no one - especially our "leaders" - wants to say out loud.

Humanity finds itself in a real predicament. Too bad we didn't start taking this stuff seriously 40 years ago.

Edit:

I consider myself a moderate, and have been promoting slow change for a decade or so. But few have listened to scientist and people that thought they was worth listening to. Time us running out, and few options left.
