FOMO
I get the excitement for Bitcoin. I love it. But why the fuck would you invest into a company and then ask it to do what you can already do for yourself?
Just be your own company if that's how you need to think about it. Have your own treasury.
I generally want a company to produce something I find valuable. Holding Bitcoin isn't producing anything. And the idea that all investment must outpace Bitcoin or fuck it is kind of retarded. Bitcoin has no value without goods and services, and price will probably stabilize over time. I need stuff and want companies to keep making it. Just giving up on R&D in favor of buying Bitcoin seems fiat and pointless. I believe companies should approach Bitcoin strategically, but I don't think that's what investors are broadly asking for.
Shareholders want Intuit to buy bitcoin instead of shareholders buying bitcoin themselves.
