It's weird being nearly middle aged at the skatepark. While I'm mostly just there teaching my son how to pump up and down in the bowl. As a training exercise to make his legs and mind stronger. Kids there call me sir when they hand me my skateboard after it flies by. I've never gotten used to being called sir. I don't mind it. It's just a weird thing about life. One day people stop IDing you for beer and call you sir. It's not all bad. When I turned 14 and grew rapidly for the first time women were scared of me. And that took some getting used to. You realize as a man you are a brutal animal. That must be embraced. Not shunned. But still as a young man no one really cared what I said. As I approach middle life when I speak people tend to listen. People can hear the years in your voice even if they don't realize it. Although I care to speak less and less each year. Maybe because I've already covered most topics.
