After nearly 15 years in Bitcoin and having owned pretty much every single hardware signer except for yours, I got myself a Q.

First of all, its reputation is deserved. The massive amount of features combined with the obviously, deeply thought through careful design of workflows and even warnings that are all designed to keep the user and their Bitcoin safe.

Bravo.

But now my two complaints. Lol. (neither of them a big deal.)

Why no CompactSeedQR? I'm going to have to redraw my pages.! 😁 that said, I kind of expect there is some safety or technical reason you've chosen not to include it.

Secondly, I got the glow in the dark model and when the case was being made for this they must have been really low on glow in the dark juice wherever this is made because at first I was almost certain that this was just clear and not glow in the dark but after cooking it with my light bulb for a while I was able to see a very very faint green glow. πŸ«₯

But all in all, I am truly impressed and thanks.

:) coldcard is v good hardware wallet

Yeah, and I have quite the collection. I've got an original ledger, original trezor, the thing that shapeshift sold for 10 bucks for a while, which is a trezor clone. (actually, a pretty nice piece of hardware easier than the trezor, ultimately.) I own three jades. And I've built two seedsigners and honestly the seedsigner would be my favorite if only there was the ability to operate it easily on a battery.

Dang hardware boy πŸ₯ΉπŸ«ΆπŸ½

Just don’t look up the issues with their secure element or shady business practices πŸ™ƒ

Fully aware of these things...

Details?

whenever I brave "coldcard shady business practices" all I get is cold card tutorials and how great they are. 🀷

Do some research on how he screwed and blackballed Foundation. After taking the code for CC from someone else then changing the rules.

open source or GTFO

Most, if not all hardware is closed source. Including your hardware wallet of choice and the device you typing this note.

Your software is also closed source and you should be ashamed of your total disingenuousness on the subject.

and my seedsigners fuck πŸ–•

Seed signers are fantastic.

I should have realized that posting this here would cause a bit of a stir. Lol.

They are fantastic learning devices

Your rationalizations are pathetic.

you should demand that your Bitcoin stack is FOSS.

Your raspberry pi is closed source

Use code of someone else, make changes, closed source now. lmao

And iirc nostr:nprofile1qqsg8k9myvegcelvu2klzvrdh9lr7qnms57chkhjymgpcts09n4dutspzemhxue69uhkummnw3ezumtfd3hh2tnvdakz7qghwaehxw309aux6u3ww4ek2mn0wd68ytn0wfnj7qgmwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhx7unpdenk2urfd3kzuer9wchs3ct77k passport core is fully open source, software and hardware.

Thanks for the praise and criticism;

Yes, most features and care for bitcoin.

SeedQR is fine, and adopted. Now, CompactSeedQR is an abomination and a front to the QR standard. It's headless binary, this means security issues and low hardware support (modules).

The glow in the dark needs a lot of sun charging, I think it might need a manual or to be upgraded to tritium.

Q is the best.

Hey! Awesome to hear you're loving the Q! πŸ™Œ It's great that you appreciate the design and features. Totally get the CompactSeedQR thing, though! And the glow in the dark model? Sounds like a fun little adventure! πŸ˜„ Keep enjoying your Bitcoin journey!
