That comparison's a little off. With a street musician, I have to walk right past them if I've got stuff to do in the area, and I might not like their music and so not give them anything.

But having over 16,000 followers means people actually want to read this content. Let's do the math. 16,000 followers paying 5,000,000 Sats a year. That's an average of about 300 Sats per user per year. Okay, the followers built up gradually over the course of that first year. But still, the trend is clear. People are just too stingy.

I'd like to know how many followers haven't zapped even a single Sat. Wouldn't surprise me if it's over 50%.

Stinginess also has its degrees. For some a 1k sat zap can fund a full meal and it could just be that a solid portion of the 50% not zapping are in that state.
