What I love the most about buying book is opening the box they're delivered in. It feels like Christmas: the excitement of which books I'll get (even though I very well know what I ordered!), what condition they're in, how they smell and feel like when I'm holding them.
I love the excitement of starting a new journey with an author whose pitch or podcast interview had impressed me enough to put their book on my list -- and eventually peaked my interest enough that I'll finally pressed the button.
