What are people’s thoughts when it comes to posting pictures of your kids online?

On the one hand some part of me has always had a problem with it (ie it’s not their choice)

On the other, I love the depth of relationship that can be created from a carefree approach online

I’m in the “not their choice” camp I guess. It’s a personal decision and kids are not old enough to make it so I try not to post, unless the face is redacted.

Yeah I like that approach. Whilst it’s also good to talk through one’s reasoning

Biggest reason is I don’t know what kind of person they’ll be, if they value and guard their privacy or post freely. And since I don’t know, it’s best to default to not sharing much.

Exactly

I can see both sides too. I'm acutely aware of some of the dark things that happen to the images we share of children online, but also of the joy we get, as loved ones, from seeing them. I think it can be done in a thoughtful and considerate way. For example, being creative with your photography, keeping their faces hidden, not sharing intimate stories etc. Respecting their privacy 🫶

Yeah all good points. Thanks for sharing

Do not put pictures of you children online. 1. You are known bitcoiner so it's a security risk 2. Paedos.

2 very valid points

Thanks for sharing
