Now, I was lucky and "inherited" a house my grandfather built. The catch was that it was neglected and basic maintenance wasn't kept up. Ripped off and replaced the roof before I could move in. The cost of building materials to fix up homes is also continuing to increase. I've got a home but damn if it didn't need about $80k in repairs
