well, technically you are using a long private and public key. you have to :) i see that you're using the primal client, is that correct? nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg is a great client. you can find your private key and public key in the settings menu under the account tab. you'll want to save that private key somewhere safe. the public key is like your username, but it's very complicated to give to users. we have something called a nostr address that we use, it's like an email address, or lightning address, but for nostr. it's a human readable format for your public key. primal may offer them to users for free, but you can also use a provider for your nostr address, or you can setup your own if you want. if all of this is too complicated then you can skip it entirely.
Discussion
Nostr addresses aren't the final solution for the problem of human readable names since ICANN ultimately controls nostrplebs.com or whatever regular domain name.
Namecoin names are a perfect fit for Nostr. They're lightweight, ridiculously censorship-resistant, easily managed and can be maintained with Bitcoin Lightning payments.
Can't wait to release Nymble to show y'all what I'm talking about.
your website mentions Ethereum and NFTs. is this an old version of your website?
I appreciate the response. Assuming Primal could be shut down at anytime….Apple could just remove from the App Store right?
