Reading the Bible in general is useful and enlightening, but the Gospels are so in particular. Christ the King exudes an aura of mastery throughout, even though He is nevertheless fully human. He reigns without a need for armies or riches because the power of His presence is enough to make mountains bow before Him, and the seas to part. Christ's Being is a higher form of Being than that of ordinary men, He is more attuned, more aware, more present, more feeling than those around Him. This is how He, as a single man, could experience suffering sufficient to expiate the sins of billions over thousands of years, for Christ's existence is a fuller existence than we experience, so much so as to bridge that immense gap. And so Christ is truly the Prince of Peace, He exudes an aura of calm and mastery that transforms all around Him who are open to it, to lead them to a higher plane of existence.
