Abortion is legalized eugenics. And that logic could even be extended to birth control, but that's a more nuanced debate.

I don’t think it counts as eugenics if it’s done voluntarily and without regard to any specific physical characteristics.

In my opinion, it comes down to the fact that it clearly cannot be anyone else’s decision BUT the mothers. Giving anyone else the power to decide what is best for her and her unborn child is authoritarian and corrupt, and can only be enforced through violence.
Mothers can still make horrible decisions, and I think that social consequences are appropriate for certain situations, but to give the power to decide to the state or anyone else is wrong.
