I’m not sure which way is the best to measure this but here’s some all-time numbers:

1. 44448 distinct pubkeys that has broadcast at least one kind 0 event, i.e set metadata at least one time.

2. 84053 distinct pubkeys based on all events in the database.

3. 48378 distinct pubkeys that has posted at least one note event(kind 1).

For reference, the previous numbers I’ve posted was based on the second point above, i.e distinct pubkeys based on all events in the database.

Can you try distinct keys that have at least one 0 or 1 event?

77182

Interesting!  So roughly 8% of pubkeys are abandoned without any further engagement.  That's lower than I expected.

Yeah, it’s not a lot actually. I’d guess that all time stats would contain a lot of dead keys as well because of inacitve old users but if I count the distinct pubkeys with at least one kind 0 or kind 1 event where the event was first seen on Dec 1 or later, I get 71423 distinct pubkeys which is a lot more than I would have guessed.
