Even if a team receives a grant, it is not necessarily a larger grant than an individual would receive, so the same pie ends up feeding more people. Any dev within that team, who would have gotten a nice, big grant, on his own, takes a massive financial hit.

This is why I'm a big fan of the bidding approach that nostr:nprofile1qqswxfzgg0u2keyrsflrqhjmn4lkrw0t0yd2yaxj5d5rduuen3m8v5qpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshsz9mhwden5te0vf5hgcm0d9hx2u3wwdhkx6tpdshstzx3ak is going for. I think its a great way to accelerate projects rather than accelerating individuals 😀

Yes, more focus on outcomes, less on celebrity.

Can you broadcast that note? I can't see it or find it in search.

That's quite far away. 👀 I'm down near Munich.

There is also a RaspiBlitz hackday on the 10th and BTC++ on the 11th to 13th. So lots of reasons to come. I might even have a spare ticket for BTC++...

Another thing is crowdfunding, like on Geyser.

Mostly still an influencer/celebrity thing, that doesn't really work for Nostr development teams, but maybe one day. Who knows?

I really hope it becomes a thing to support outcomes through zaps

You would think that would be the _normal_ way, to support efforts, since Nostr literally invented zaps, but nope.

The presence of gigantic foundations, in such a tiny market, aggressively discourages individual contributions. We are all supposed to donate to the foundations and they then decide who gets what. Central planning with Bitcoin. 🤷🏻‍♀️
