Nobody is forced to have children. For some characters, it's probably better if they don't have any. But the argument based on the carbon footprint is pathetic. Or that the world is so bad (war, inflation, bla bla bla) that you'd rather not bring children into the world. To end up complaining that you are simply not the focus of people who have children shows how lost some people are. If you have children, your priorities are usually elsewhere and are not complementary to those of a single person.
I have the impression that some people want to put themselves in the role of victims. "Oh, I don't want to have children and everyone else doesn't understand me." I have friends who don't have children and don't want any. Yes, that's okay for me. But they just don't "play first fiddle". They come second to the family.🤷
Unfortunately, I hear the following argument very often.
"I'm not free with children."
In my opinion, you don't really seem to be free without children either. But okay.
